Grout options are available. We all want to protect our investment that we have put into our floors and get the most out of them as possible. Choosing the best tile is only the first step, now comes time to choosing your grout color, many of our clients take a day or two to think about what color they want. Shouldn't the color you chose stay the same through-out the life of the tile?
That's why we offer MAPEI SEALED GROUT, its a "LIFETIME WARRANTY" that your grout will NOT change color. WHY PAY MORE FOR SEALED GROUT? Sealed grout tends to hold up better than unsealed grout. Without the protect layer, moisture gets into the grout, causing it to expand and contract. Unsealed grout can loosen over time or become chipped and cracked. Even if the grout isn't exposed to regular moisture, sealing it can help it hold up longer. WEAR AND TEAR OF GROUT Unsealed grout gradually wears away over time. Sealed grout tends to be less susceptible to that wear and tear of regular use. Think of sealer as a way to strengthen your grout to slow down the normal wear. Grout without chips, cracks or worn spots looks better, and it protects the edges of your tiles better to make the entire surface stronger and longer lasting. EASE OF CLEANING At some point spills may happen or your floors, common splatters on the backsplash areas are common, allowing dirt to set into your grout line will darken them and or make them look patchy. Sealed grout tends to be easier to clean when spills happen. The layer of sealer keeps the splatter item from soaking in so you can wipe it away easier than you could on unsealed grout. It also makes it easier to clean up everyday dirt and grime to keep the grout looking fresh. When you compare sealed grout versus unsealed grout, its clear to see that extra expense is worth to ensure your grout hold up over time.
